Aco Tech Practitioner
This course provides a comprehensive introduction to fundamental IT concepts, including Linux and Windows operating systems, networking, security, databases, virtualization, automation & web services (development) and Docker. It is designed for beginners and those looking to solidify their foundational knowledge backed with Practical Labs, mentorship (guidance) and most importantly up to date industry standard implementations (Practices). Individual and collaborative work is expected, each student will have a robust portfolio at the end of the course.
Beginner - Intermediate Level
What you'll learn ?
- Understand and navigate both Linux and Windows operating systems, including performing basic administrative tasks and managing user accounts.
- Configure and manage small networks, including IP addressing, subnetting, and basic troubleshooting of network issues.
- Perform database operations using SQL, including creating databases, writing queries, and managing backups and restores.
- Set up and manage virtual machines, understanding the key concepts of virtualization and its role in modern IT infrastructure.
- Automate repetitive tasks using scripting languages like Bash and PowerShell, and develop basic web Sites using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Monitor systems and applications using popular monitoring tools, set up alerts, and respond to performance issues effectively.
- Work with Docker to build, deploy, and manage containerized applications, understanding the principles of containerization and Docker’s ecosystem.
- Integrate multiple IT skills to design and manage a medium-scale IT environment that includes servers, databases, and applications.
- Apply problem-solving and critical thinking skills to troubleshoot issues and optimize IT systems, ensuring they run efficiently and securely.
